ABOUT BIANCA

Putting Her Experience
to Work

From the age of 17, Bianca has worked as an independent and contributing member of society. Her experience as a radio host, a community relations director for a multi-million dollar company, a federal grant coordinator, and a community advocate gives her a unique skill set to lead, ideate, and make an impact.  At 34, She earned recognition for her initiative and work ethic when her team was awarded the 2018 Clewiston Chamber of Commerce New Business of the Year Award, 9 months after opening. Bianca has also had the honor of serving as a president, chair, board member, and volunteer for many organizations and groups throughout SWFL. In 2017, she was elected as the first Hispanic President of our local Chamber of Commerce, where she sat on the board for 5 years. In business and community, she is guided by the belief that  "to lead is to serve."

Upon meeting Bianca, you will quickly see that her achievements pale in comparison to the one endeavor for which she is most proud: providing a safe, supportive, and loving home for her family. In 2019 she transitioned from private business to education in order to be more present with her family. In her own words, "while this part of my career path was unexpected, it was the best decision I've ever made. I knew from the first day in the classroom that this was where I belonged!" Now that her children are older, and with a full professional educator's certification under her belt, she can put her experience to work and make an impact on local education! As the granddaughter of former Superintendent of Schools, Bill Burke, she is well aware of the impact consistent, practical, no-nonsense leadership can have on the future of our county. And she can't wait to get to work.

BIANCA ON THE

Issues

The Issues

student success first

All students must be afforded the opportunity to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Our duty is to help our most precious resource to develop the skills necessary to reach their fullest potential. Bianca's personal, organizational, and professional behavior will be guided by the prioritization of student success and support. She will work with the other board members to identify clear, measurable goals for our students and district. Bianca will also fight for our educators, administrators, and staff to be valued and supported because they are on the frontlines serving our students directly.

Responsible budgeting

With her experience in federal grants and in actively overseeing million-dollar budgets, Bianca will work with the administration and stakeholders to provide creative solutions to our budget concerns.

She will get to work cutting wasteful spending, and ineffective programming, and reallocate our resources back to teachers and students. Years of board inaction in advocating for the reimplementation of impact fees and the "hands-off" approach in planning for the future has produced a burden on our district that will ultimately cost the taxpayers even more. Hendry County simply cannot afford more of the same.

they work for you

The School Board is funded by our tax dollars and the members are elected to represent us. Bianca feels passionate about elected officials exhibiting a sense of duty to their true constituents and to their roles as school board members first. As a woman of faith, from a working-class background, Bianca's principles will be much more reflective of those within District 3. Under Bianca's leadership, parents and taxpayers, not bureaucrats and administrators, will be at the forefront of the decision-making process. Your opinion matters and Bianca will always open her door to constituents, families, students, and teachers to ensure she is representing their values and supporting their needs.

raising the bar

Bianca believes that setting high expectations for our students and employees is crucial to our success. Beginning with accountability, school and community leaders must recognize where we are as a district, we must celebrate our wins and acknowledge our weaknesses. Then, the county must move forward actively pursuing higher academic achievement, greater employee retention, and stronger community relationships to meet the highest standards.
